My story
From researcher…
I have become a full-time property investor without really planning to! Let me explain. My goal from early on in life was to become a scientist with a degree and then a PhD in Genetics, that is the course I pursued and for many years I enjoyed a great career in research with AstraZeneca Pharmaceuticals.
Although I still enjoyed my job, towards the latter part of my time with AstraZeneca, I felt disillusioned with the lack of opportunities to expand my knowledge.
…to property investor
Fuelled by a lifelong desire to ‘learn’, I stumbled into property investing. Following a few “novice investor” errors, I embarked on a course of action to learn how to invest with knowledge and skill, deploying the services of several successful property coaches and mentors along the way.
With the right education and help, coupled with my own hard work ethic and positive attitude, I was able to achieve financial freedom whilst still at work full time. The decision to leave AstraZeneca was not mine – I was offered job relocation or take voluntary redundancy. I chose the latter.
